Music has been a big part of Elias’ life from an early age. Being born and raised in Chicago, Elias grew up listening to much of the techno and house music in the early 90s coming out of Chicago. He was passionate and curious about how these sounds and music was being made. Over the years his older brother inspired him and lit a flame within him by giving him mix tapes and opening his mind to the music that was out there. Over the years Elias learned to play several instruments and his journey began to discover and learn as much as he could about music.

A pivotal point in Elias life was moving away from his roots and what he grew up with to a new place he had never been before. This was a time of great discovery and soul searching. As some time passed he picked up Djing and began playing with a few local Djs in a pretty much non-existing dance music scene. He managed to connect and become part of a circle of peers/friends that created a scene that is now much bigger and more recognized. Fast forward to the last 5 or so years and Elias has made himself a name not only locally but also internationally with his productions and audible charisma in his mix sets and music.

Today Elias is working hard to produce music and continues to evolve as an artist and has had the opportunity to share the decks with world-renowned artists from across the globe. Stay tuned for more upcoming music and gigs in 2012

LOLL THIS IS GERAT!

'The Weeknd' seeks band members

Are you unemployed and living in Toronto? Does the prospect of wallowing in sleaze and self-loathing imagery make your skinny jeans feel tighter than usual?

Would you happen to be a professional guitar and/or bass player?

If yes, today is your day, pal - and the same goes for any fans of The Weeknd who figure Abel Tesfaye should really book some concert dates, already.

The Weeknd is holding an open call for band auditions, and, according to the Polaris-nominated artist's Facebook page, the R&B act is seeking "a professional guitarist and bass player in or around the Toronto area to trav-el and perform live in concert."

Interested (and have the necessary chops)? The deadline for submissions is Sunday, Jan. 8, and applicants are welcome to send their name, age, instrument and photo - as well as any YouTube clips, credentials, etc.

- to ERCY(a)EME-NY.COM. For more on the auditions, check out The Weeknd's Facebook page.
